LISTEN: placebo weeeeee!
i don't know why i have not yet talked about placebo. they are one of my favourite rock bands ever. and probably the most interesting.
i love the fact that the three major members all have different sexual orientation. Olsdal is homosexual, Hewitt is heterosexual (though he did leave the band last year), and Molko is bisexual. the only member they're missing now is a pansexual on percussion lol.
anyways onto the tunes.
i love pure morning. awesome lyrics!
the bitter end.
i love this performance of every you every me they did at the reading festival.
so they are not as active in the recent years, receiving less positive coverage from the music press, but i heard they have a new full length album coming out in 2009, which is totally exciting.
go to their myspace site to check out more tunes.
LISTEN: priscilla ahn
a lovely lovely song by priscilla ahn. she is so stunningly beautiful it's not even funny. i love her voice and the way she sings.
here is another one of hers. she is incredibly amazing here.
LISTEN: the foals
i'm listening to foals again!!
they are from oxford, england, where i lived and worked for a year! their first full length album came out just before i left oxford to come home. brad scored anthea a copy of their cd from this dj at a club. he was drunk at the time of course. what did you think?

earlier this year, they were high on everybody's list of bands to watch in 2008, but the hype did seem to die down soon after. i will admit that you may get tired of their tunes pretty quickly because of the repetitiveness of the lyrics and the similar concept used in many of their songs. not to mention the whiny vocals. however, as the members have claimed, they are different from all the other bands from oxford. at least the "sounding spacey" bit.
although not one of their big hits, this here is my favourite from them =D

LISTEN: bright eyes is not your average band
You write such pretty words,
But life's no storybook.
Love's an excuse to get hurt.
And to hurt.
Do you like to hurt?
I do, I do.
Then hurt me,
Then hurt me,
Then hurt me...
- conor oberst (singer-songwriter/guitarist of bright eyes)
